Historic Review Committee

The Historic Review Board acts in an advisory capacity to the Town Board when considering possible designations of a landmark, landmark site or historic districts.

Once a particular site or area receives designation as a landmark, landmark site or historic district, the Historic Review Board acts in a decision-making capacity with regard to the particular property or area.  Section 6.F.5 delineates the procedure for review of plans for construction or alteration of a designated site.  The law specifies that the Historic Review Board must approve, modify and approve, or disapprove a building application with regard to specific historic exterior qualities.
