The Town of Eden has recently experienced incidents of theft from vehicles in multiple neighborhoods. These occurrences serve as an important reminder of the need for all residents to secure their vehicles at all times when not in use and to ensure that valuables are not left in plain view.

Preliminary information suggests that the individuals responsible are not local to Eden. Furthermore, these incidents are not isolated to our town. Similar thefts were reported during the same time period in Grand Island, Buffalo, Amherst, Evans, and Derby. Unfortunately, vehicle thefts and break-ins are part of a larger, regional trend that continues to increase in prevalence.

Residents are strongly encouraged to take the following precautions:

  • Lock vehicles whenever unattended.
  • Remove all valuables from sight.
  • Never leave keys or fobs inside the vehicle.

Your vigilance is one of the most effective ways to deter crime and protect your property. As always, residents are reminded: If you see something, say something. Dial 911 immediately to report emergencies. For non-emergency matters, please contact the Eden Police Department at 716-992-9211.

The Town of Eden remains committed to working alongside law enforcement and our neighboring communities to address this growing issue and to ensure the continued safety of our residents.
