Election Day is Tuesday, November 5th, 2024. The polls will be located at their usual locations (East Eden Fire Hall, Eden Town Hall and Eden Middle/High School). Polls will be open from 6:00am – 9:00pm.  Please check your voter registration card for your polling location. Exercise your right and get out and vote!

Next week is bulk garbage week. From November 5th – 8th, no more than TWO items outside of your garbage tote are allowed. Bulk items must be curbside by 6:00am the day of your pickup and they will be picked up that day or the following. Please note that items containing freon are not allowed and nails must be removed from wood. Thank you!

🚧Attention Residents🚧

Please note that the railroad crossing on Bley Road between Belknap Rd and Bauer Rd will be under construction starting Monday, October 14th, 2024. The estimated completion date is Friday, October 18th, 2024. During this time the railroad tracks can not be crossed. Thank you!

Please note that the construction on Route 62 has an updated anticipated completion date of Sunday, October 6th, 2024. Thank you for your understanding!

ATTENTION RESIDENTS

Route 62 is currently closed from Jennings Rd to Route 75/Sisson Hwy due to power poles and live wires down across the roadway.

Detour to Hamburg – take E. Church St to RT 75.

Please expect power outages due to this issue.

The Eden Tornado Relief Fund has been established to provide financial support to those in our Eden Community who were affected by the tornado on July 10, 2024. 

The money in the Fund has been provided by the generous donations of many individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations. 

To apply for assistance, please complete this application and return it to edentornadorelief@edenny.gov or mail to the Town of Eden, Attn: Tornado Relief Committee, 2795 E. Church St., Eden, NY 14057 by Friday, September 6, 2024. 

A committee representing the Town of Eden, the Eden Chamber of Commerce, and the Eden Community Foundation will oversee distribution of funds. Information provided on this application will not be shared outside of this committee. 

Funds will be provided based on need and some applicants may not receive funding. Distribution of funds is expected in October 2024.

ATTENTION RESIDENTS

National Grid has a scheduled electric interruption on Monday, August 12, 2024 between 8:30am – 9:30am. An alternate date of Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 8:30am – 9:30am has been scheduled due to any delays that may occur.

Not all areas in Town will be impacted. Postcards informing residents of the interruption were sent to applicable addresses.

ATTENTION

The NYS Department of Transportation will be working on a culvert project on Route 75 between Schintzius Rd and Hardt Rd beginning on Monday, August 5th. The area between 8151 Sisson Hwy and 8161 Sisson Hwy will be closed. Only local traffic will be possible from either direction up to the location of the project. Please use the posted detour from Route 62 to Jennings Rd to E Church St. to Route 75. This closure has an anticipated completion date of August 26th.

The Town of Eden Community Day was a Huge Success due to the 60+ volunteers that helped clean up yards and fields of debris and branches from the Tornado.

We appreciate the support of Tree Team 716 (www.treeteam716.com) for donating their time and services to the victims. The Community Day was also successful due to the additional support of the Eden Methodist Church, Revive Wesleyan (South Creek), Eden Central School District, Mary Banko, Frank from Shurfine and everyone that came out yesterday!

The Town of Eden and Erie County are collecting information about the damage and loss of property in the Town of Eden due to the tornado, please visit https://arcg.is/0ybK4H0 to fill out the county form.  This form is the first step to determine if additional resources are available to you including federal assistance, low interest loans and others. 

Thank you to the volunteers of the Eden Fire Department , East Eden Fire Department and EMS for all their hard work during and after the storm. Thank you to the Eden Building department and the Eden Highway department for their efforts to keep our community safe during the clean up process!

Town of Eden Highway Department, Superintendent of Highways, Ronald Maggs receives award for attending his 25th Highway School June 5th, 2024 – Ithaca, NY.

Superintendent of Highways, Ronald Maggs was recognized for his outstanding commitment to training and education following 25 years of dedicated attendance at the Annual School for Highway Superintendents (Highway School) held at Ithaca College. The Highway School is a training conference hosted jointly by the New York State LTAP Center – Cornell Local Roads Program and the Association of Towns of the State of New York. Over 700 highway and public works officials from across the state attend each year for training, education, and to share ideas on transportation topics aimed at making New York State’s local roads safer and more cost efficient. “These highway professionals from across the state come to the Highway School each year to gain valuable knowledge and share ideas aimed at making New York State’s local roads safer and more cost efficient.” – David Orr, Director, New York State LTAP Center – Cornell Local Roads Program The New York State LTAP Center – Cornell Local Roads Program provides training, technical assistance, and information to municipal officials and employees responsible for the maintenance, construction, and management of local highways and bridges in New York State. It is one of 52 Centers established under the Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).

It is hot, hot, hot! The Eden Town pool will be open this Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 3pm-8pm.

The NYS Department of Transportation will be working on a culvert project on Route 75 between New Oregon Rd. and School St. The closure is estimated to begin on Monday, June 17th. The detour for Route 75 will be down Church St. to Jennings Rd. to Langford Rd. back to Route 75. The detour will also be posted at the Route 62/75 junction.

Due to construction, the Eden Town Clerk’s office will be closed on Wednesday, April 10th. All other offices in the Eden Town Hall will be open during their regular scheduled hours.

Town of Eden Job Opportunity

The Town of Eden Supervisor’s office is accepting applications for a part time administrative assistant position.  This position offers a flexible schedule of Monday-Friday between 8am-4pm, up to 19 hours a week.  The starting wage is $18.00 per hour.  Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter no later than April 19, 2024 to admin@edenny.gov or drop off to the Supervisor’s office located at 2795 East Church St., Eden during normal business hours. The Eden Town Hall will be closed on March 29, 2024 in observance of Good Friday. We will re-open on Monday, April 1st at 8am.

Town and County Taxes are due Friday, March 15th. The Town Clerk’s Office is open 8:00am-4:00pm on Thursday and Friday.

Waste Management has made another change to the pick-up schedule for this week.  If your normal garbage day is Tuesday it will be picked up on Thursday.  Wednesday’s garbage will NOT take place this week, you will be allowed to place additional bags outside your tote next Wednesday.  Thursday’s garbage will be picked up on Friday and Friday’s garbage will be picked up on Saturday.
