Town of Eden News & Announcements

Town of Eden: Awarded 2 Grants

We are very happy to announce that the Town of Eden has been awarded a grant in the amount of $16,092 from the Eden Community Foundation to help beautify our Main Street.  The Town was awarded the Main Street Grant in 2018 and has been working with 11 businesses this year to complete projects that will enhance our community.  As part of the Main Street Grant of $300,000, the Town was awarded $15,000 to help with beautification of Main Street.  The Eden Community Foundation has refocused their grant initiatives to include beautification of the Eden’s Hamlet area.  Recognizing this, the Town sought grant funding to match the already awarded $15,000.  The Town is very grateful to the Foundation for their support of the Eden community. More information on how the money will be used will be coming soon.

The Eden Recreation Department received a grant from the Arts Services Initiative of Western New York to help offset the costs associated with the Music on Main Street.  This grant will help ensure that the Tuesday Night family friendly free concert series will continue for the 2020 season.  We received $3323 which will be used to pay for the bands, staffing, licensing, and advertisement.

Happy Thanksgiving

The Eden Town Hall will be closed Thursday (11/28) and Friday (11/29).  Happy Thanksgiving!

FEMA telephone town hall – Nov. 14th at 6:30pm

On Thursday, November 14, from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., FEMA Region II will be hosting a Telephone Town Hall for Erie County residents to ask flood insurance and flood map-related questions. We want to ensure that residents that may have been unable to attend one of FEMA’s two public Open House meetings, held this past July, will be able to learn more about flood risk in Erie County.

The call is a great opportunity for us to address questions directly from local residents that have properties in the 1% and 0.2% annual chance floodplain.

During the Telephone Town Hall on Thursday evening, residents simply need to answer their home or mobile phones to participate and FEMA Region II Risk Analysis Branch Chief Michael Foley as well flood insurance expert Thomas Young will be available to answer questions.

We hope that this additional engagement will help communities better understand their flood risk. And for those residents that may be unable to join us on Thursday to ask questions, we would appreciate if your office would share the FEMA Flood Map Information Exchange hotline at (877) 336-2627.
